The Greatest Enemy Of Dreams

By Evan Sanders

"The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt." Sylvia Plath

When we begin to doubt ourselves, our whole world begins to fall apart. That's a pretty brave statement, but if we truly dive into the consequences of what happens when doubt crawls into our lives, it actually does occur. We can even take it a step farther with regard to chasing dreams. Since the playing field is even more competitive, and doubt comes into our minds, that's when it actually does ruin everything or seems to put a total and complete stop to everything we've ever wanted in this life.

You see, dreams demand everything from you. They demand your complete attention, work ethic, keenness, integrity, and willingness to sacrifice a significant deal to achieve them. But when you start doubting your dream and what you're actually doing in life, you aren't giving it your all.

When you come across someone talking of a dream, there's this sense you get from them that they know something is going to happen in spite of massive amounts of uncertainty surrounding all of it. There's a built-in sense of belief that roots itself so deeply in that person that they can't possibly be defeated. That's true deep faith.

But when you hear someone who is talking about their passions, and you get that they may be slightly on edge about it all, you can be pretty sure that they'll never achieve what they set out to do. It's not you are rooting against them, but it's that you know dreams take everything and giving it less than that, well, it just won't work out in any way. So pour yourself into what you adore and let doubt disappear from your mind. Others may say it's not practicable but the impossible has been achieved many many times through history.

Give it a shot. Anything could happen.
