Why Am I So Unhappy With Myself And What To Do About It

There are many reasons people struggle with unhappiness. In most cases, folks are not even sure of what happiness is. They may think that there is always something better to what they have in their lives. Everyone asks at some point, the question, why am I so unhappy with myself. However, it can be something temporary. Of course, it is something to take note of.

Happiness is difficult to define because this is not something that you will feel all the time. There are times when you feel down in the dumps. Other times, you are going to be in a good mood. However, there will be extreme cases, where you will be in more of a depressed state of mind. If this continues to go on for longer than two weeks, then something needs to be done about it.

You may find that you are not happy because you have become depressed or anxious. There are people who have been walking around, feeling out of the ordinary with a change in behaviour for a really long time. Sometimes, you feel stuck in life and not having the courage to take the challenge to take the next step.

It can be easier to stay in your comfort zone, and continue with a routine which is very monotonous. It takes a lot of courage to make the next move. However, it will help you in the long run. A therapist will help you to get to this point so you are able to face your fears. Often, it is difficult to face your fears because of what you have been though in the past.

People work a lot or they go shopping which helps them to escape from everything else and puts them on a high. Other addictions develop and this is not uncommon, but obviously complications will exist with this as well. Loved ones should encourage the individual to go to therapy. There is so much that one can learn about themselves during this time.

However, it is important that loved ones encourage the individual to look for professional and specialized counseling or therapy. It is not necessary for someone like this to be walking around feeling anxious, depressed and afraid from one day to the next. Soldiers are strong, but when it comes to your emotions, blocking them out is actually not the best way in showing your strength.

They find out how they are able to become more alive without the use of alcohol or drugs. As they are guided by the therapist, they learn to get into a more healthy lifestyle, which doesn't include obsessions or other forms of escape. Over this time, folks begin to become fulfilled in other ways by connecting with people who are inspiring and by being involved in activities which are creative.

It is a process that people find to be fearful and often they will want to give up. There are times when they will be depressed because of what comes out during this time. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing because it challenges you and you will then become stronger.
