There are different ways in which a coach will deal with this. It can depend on the client and the severity of the addiction. Sometimes, they will need to go through with the detoxification program first because often the chemicals take some time to pass through the system. Drinking is also a more social activity that is legal as well.

This is why it is more difficult to eliminate it from the life of the individual. They will need support from the family as well as from groups, such as alcoholics anonymous. But this is not always effective. It is not always enough to go to a group to help you stay sober. You often need someone more professional who is a central focus in your life.

This will be someone who you are going to made accountable to. Groups are helpful, but the individual needs to continue going to the life coach until they feel it is necessary to stop. These sessions are also different to psychotherapy, in that there is not as much communication in terms of analysis. There will be communication, but it is made up in many different ways.

Sessions with a coach like this are shorter. But there are clients who also want to have someone available outside of the sessions. There are many coaches who do make themselves available. This is great for a person who is really struggling during the week. They may find that there are times when they are tempted or they are reaching a point of crisis. There should be a person that they can turn to.

This is a priority should they want to confide in them and build up a solid relationship. Even though these sessions are different to that of a therapist, the relationship is important because you will be working closely together. Initially, you will have a consultation, setting goals and discussing where the client wants to be in a certain amount of time.

This is not a casual goal, but, then again one shouldn't feel like a failure if the individual doesn't achieve the goal. This is why goals need to set with the life coach. They will know how to be more realistic about this. Much of the time, an individual is eager and will set goals to high or out of reach.

Clients will report back once a week, and their progress will be discussed. They will look at where they have made improvements and where they need to work on certain areas. They will benefit from the encouragement and this keeps them motivated.
