An Impressive Guide For Organizing Leadership Development Training

By Virginia Green

Corporate managers and business people who are entitled to leadership have to undergo refresher courses after some time to enhance productivity. Such trainings are usually organized once in a year where people from different parts meet for a week or so to learn new management tricks and share ideas with their colleagues. However, the event cannot be successful if the hosts never organized for it properly. Following are interesting ideas on how you can organize for leadership development training.

All workshops must have a theme and each year attracts a different topic. However, before you come up with the theme, you need to identify the pressing challenges that business and corporate leaders are going through. As such, the invited leaders will be glad to attend the training to learn how they can handle the upcoming challenges both in marketing and production.

Having established your theme, ensure to source for experts who are conversant with topics that relate to the subject. These professionals are difficult to find, and earlier consultations should be made before printing out the theme. Also, you have to discuss their fees and number of hours that they shall facilitate so that if you are not comfortable, you can look for a replacement.

The next step is to identify the venue where these trainings will be held. The exercise cannot be held in the same place more than once. Most of these leaders enjoy the trainings and being exposed to new environments will trigger their interests to participate. Find a venue that the entire participant would be happy to attend. However, you have to be conscious about its charges.

Training materials, foodstuffs, accommodation and venue hire are expensive, and it takes a good amount of fee from those that will attend. Calculate all the expenses and use their estimate in arranging a fee for all the participants. An account number should be included in the invitation letter where those that are willing to attend should confirm using emails or phone calls.

After getting the amount payable for each participant and a venue, start sending invitation letters. These letters should carry your letterhead, the names of the facilitators, theme of the teaching and topics that will be covered. With such information, the attendees will be aware of what they are coming to do and eager to listen. Remember to include the contacts of the host and direction of the venue to avoid confusion among your participants.

A few days before the training is scheduled to start, start organizing everything in place. Table arrangement in the conference hall, boarding facilities, and catering services should be ready and arranged properly. Hygiene and level of comfort should be your top priority and concern.

Equipment hire is another thing that has to be taken care of some days before the beginning of the workshop. Get working speakers, microphones, projectors and audio-video machines ready for the facilitators. Also, make sure there is a backup system somewhere to avoid confusion when one of them fails in the middle of a presentation.
