More and more people may have been telling you that you have to eat certain foods. They could be saying that there are certain diets to follow. It can make you skeptical. However, when there is proof and you find that scientists are finding how certain folks are benefiting from a variety of foods, it is definitely worth looking into. You have nothing to lose when brainfood is both tasty and healthy at the same time.

For example, there are various fish that have no benefit for your brain. Then again, there are oily fish, such as salmon and trout which are excellent. They have the right types of fats, such as EPA and DHA. Omega-3 fats are essential in any diet. When someone is a vegetarian, they should stick to walnuts, soya beans and flax seeds. They may even want to think of getting a supplement.

Blueberries are great to snack on. This is good for short term memory loss. Besides blueberries, you can also turn to tomatoes. Both of these you can just store in the refrigerator. You can also use these ingredients in your cooking in different ways, so they become more than just a snack. There are so many varieties available and it means your cooking becomes a lot healthier.

More protein comes in the form of chicken as well as eggs. This is particularly useful when you want to prevent the risk of a stroke. It is also good for the Alzheimer's patient, increasing their cognitive abilities. Vitamins B6 and B12 are helpful for these patients.

There are a lot of seeds that can spice up a meal, and at the same time they can add to the healthy side of things. For example, pumpkin seeds have been proven to do a lot for the cognitive abilities as well. They help the mental process, and give you the ability to think, while increasing serotonin levels at the same time. The zinc, magnesium, and vitamins help with this.

Always have a couple of herbs handy. They make a big difference to any meal. You dinner will look better. It will also taste better. Not only that, but you will find that all herbs carry health benefits along with them. For example, there is sage that has been known to improve your level of concentration as well as your memory skills, so it is a good idea to have some of this in the yard.

Avocado oil is obviously a good source to stick to when you are frying up certain foods. However, you can also turn to olive oil as well. Coconut oil may also be another option. Things like sunflower oil or anything else that is more commercial should be avoided because it has been processed and run through a factory. Free radicals will be damaged during this time, compared to some of the more natural oils.

There are various oils that you should rather stick to, and those that you should abandon. For example, coconut oil and olive oil are fantastic for the brain. The more commercial oils may be less expensive, but you have to ask yourself whether they are really doing you in any good. The answer will probably be no. This is the big debate.
