Before it was only theoretical but now, the textbooks come to life. Both perspectives of it will come in handy when one finally gets on the consulting path. Ensure to be a notable person while at the corporate. Do not just be there to pass time. Make it count. Success in the company will contribute to a more successful future.

While at this job, remember the goal. Therefore attend training seminars. If possible, go back to school for a masters in business administration. Engage in a sort of capacity building exercise on the professional life. Get as much basis and foundation as possible. This will work to increase credibility and also building confidence in abilities.

As one learns, it also helps to develop own strategies. Create a portfolio of methodology and concepts over time. Develop them. Make them better. Also, learn how to tailor solutions to specific situations and companies. This way, once one finally gets the motor running it will be like they have been doing this for years.

Then think about whether or not to specialize. Is it better to be really good at one thing? Or is it better to be an authority in everything? What fits well with the skills and capabilities? What is more feasible?
