Inspiration And The Creative Artist

By Kim Warrior

Many are seeking to follow their passions but having great difficulty. Inspiration is elusive and they are seeking ways and means to accomplish their goals and dreams in the most productive manner possible.

To some to be inspired is a bonus to the talents they already possess. Actually, to be inspired is the basis for any kind of creative undertaking. The actual outcome will depend on what your level of motivation and your level of talent is.

To be inspired actually takes work on your part. You cannot find it, it must find you, but you must create the right basis for it to appear. If you don't feel like working on a project, the best step to take is to work on it anyway. To just sit and wait for some type of epiphany to descend upon you and tell you what to do is not going to work. Know that everything you want or need will come to you in time, but you have to provide the path for it.

If you are a devoted writer, for example, you might have the mistaken belief that you cannot work unless you are inspired. This is exactly why so much great work is left totally and completely undone. The best route to take is to just sit down and begin to write even if it is just free writing. After a time, the muse will appear and letters and words will just flow from your fingers. You will feel as if it has nothing to do with you and be as if your hands were writing on their own.

Peak performance will almost always depend on the talents you have in your possession. If you are a writer or artist, the deep communication between your hands and your muse will appear to be a separate entity from your mind, but it is definitely not. Your mind is actually pulling out all of your past, your dreams and your knowledge from the deepest wells within you to create amazing works that are derived from within your soul.

It will be totally impossible to track those moments when you were truly and deeply inspired. It is a fickle spirit and comes and goes as it pleases. What an individual can do is to track the time of day that they are most prone to being inspired, when their emotions run the highest. For many, it is just as the sun is coming up. For others, it may be mid-day or during the twilight hours.

Once you learn what it means to be totally and completely inspired, it may be time to begin helping others discover this great knowledge. Teaching them that waiting for the muse to strike is like wasting one's time and creativity may mean the difference between your and their success and failure. Building relationships and long lasting friendships may also be a final result of your assistance.

The message here is to never wait for the right moment to come. You must create those moments and then make the very best of them. Begin that latent masterpiece that is lurking inside of you. While it may not be perfect the first time around, it is a beginning for a new and fantastic lifestyle where your dreams and goals will come that much more easily to you.
