The Difference Between Psychics And Psychic Mediums

By Kathleen Burns

Most individuals at some time in life come across a psychic or tarot card reader. Whether passing by an office, walking by a booth at a festival or speaking with one in an entertainment district, these individuals are often easy to find. While this is the case, psychic mediums which help individuals communicate with departed souls are often fewer and far between.

One reason this is the case, is that it is often harder to communicate between the physical and spiritual worlds. While we live in the physical world, those whom have passed over are considered to be living on the other side. In most cases, those working in this area refer to this other plane as the spirit world.

For the most part, a medium works to translate messages between the spirit and physical world. Whether through a private session or public seance, these individuals can often channel information based on personal experiences which the client has provided. In some cases, this might be a question. Whereas, in others it could be to send a message to the departed that one was never able to relay before the person passed on.

In some cases, a medium might hear auditory messages or experience a physical presence in the form of an object, or apparition. In fact, there are some areas in which these individuals host seances on a regular basis. Whereas, in others the events are only held once or twice a year when the veil between the worlds are at its thinnest.

For those whom have questions, or need to speak longer than others, a seance can be a good way to do so. Although, if the questions are concerning private matters, then the individual might want to consider visiting a medium in an office or other quiet space where the spirit and individual can communicate on a more personal level. In this case, the medium often channels the spirit while relaying messages between the spiritual and physical worlds.

In a seance, the medium is often a channel which the dead use to talk with the living. In fact, it has been reported that in more than once case, people attending these type events could see and hear the dearly departed. When this is the case, the communications often come through in the voice of the departed individual rather than that of the medium.

It should be noted that many people who are not trained in the psychic arts can still communicate with the dead. Although, for those with little to no experience, it is often suggested one have a guide present. In doing so, individuals can often better understand any messages being translated between the spirit physical worlds.

While there has been a number of celebrity psychics and mediums featured on television over the last several years, these individuals are very different than those offering services on a regular basis. For example, most of these individuals are being featured on programs as a method of selling books or other materials. Whereas, when working with a medium to contact a departed loved one, the focus is generally on relaying communication between the client and the loved one rather than on selling a product.
